Fun with the Google GIS applications.

I created this by geocoding the addresses from the Ministry of Education website using a handy online geocoding tool. I took the results and used an Excel macro to produce the KML file. The map below is probably sufficient, but you can download the KML directly and open it in Google Earth to get the full view.

• Green is deciles 8,9,10
• Blue is deciles 6 and 7
• Purple is deciles 3,4,5
• Red is decile 1 and 2
• Click on the marker to see the school name and actual decile.

Next steps are:

• Using different shaped markers for primary schools, integrated schools, intermediates, and high schools
• Putting the different school types into separate layers so they can be switched on and off in Google Earth.
